Match review - Cup games - 9/1/16

Signol Athletic Reds Vs Fc Shots Rebels

This game didn't start to well, we lacked pace and we were just giving the ball away. The positioning although was looking good we wernt moving in fast enough to assist passes or make ourselves known. Captained by Nyle, it picked up pace as the boys settled back into playing but we were already 3 goals down. Some brilliant attempts on goal and some fantastic team work began to emerge and the boys looked sharp. The opposition were starting to look less confident. They gave away two free kicks with handballs but unfortunately as hard as the lads tried we couldn't find the back of the net. They had a very good keeper! Second half picked up pace, two goals put us back in the game, from Caleb and Louis. Tension was building on the side line and the boys were pushing as hard as they could unfortunately they conceded another goal and the game was sealed for FC Shots. The whistle blew and we had a few teary eyes but none the less i am very proud of the boys. No one ever gives up, 1-0 down 6-0 down they don't stop. Absolute stars all of them and i promised them sweets Tuesday which brought a few smiles back on their faces.

Man of the match and captain next match is Kobe. Brilliant play from him today, when he sets his mind to it hes unstoppable! Always driving forward and always the sportsman, helping others on the pitch if they fall, laces or anything. Brilliant lad brilliant team player!

Signol Blue Vs Dukinfield Tigers

Not a lot i can say about this game really as they didn't show up! I had 9 eager boys waiting to have a go at a first round cup match and the best we could do was play against each other! Thankfully Kobe hung around so the boys had equal teams.
Was amusing to see them go up against each other, i decided to just let them play and shout encouragement rather than direction and it was an eye opener, they have no problems tackling each other and we saw a few moves that made us laugh! Rio your Ronaldo celebration after the long awaited goal was hilarious! Keep it up!

Cheers
Hayley
