Thank you!

A big thank you from me for those that attended yesterdays presentation. Being in a new venue and set up i think it worked very well as did many parents. I know there were grievances with some things but over all i think a very successful afternoon. Well done to my wing man and his team winning the quiz! Thank you to all the parents for my gift! I cant imagine why you would choose Vodka for me being such a quiet T-totaller! :)

A fantastic season had by all and yesterday the boys made me super proud with their impeccable behavior. You are brilliant all of you.

Onward and upwards. Blues as discussed, now to report to Jamie. We will share a training pitch and each week but will play at completely different times on a Saturday. maybe even different venues but please dont think im just going to never come, if i can get there i will. I still want to see you play!

Reds: Training Thursday as planned, as im on this funky storm trooper boot i will be limited to getting around but i will be there! My 2IC is bringing me.

Paul Hett Trophy Runners Up!

Adder cup winners!

End of the Season Update

Hi All

What a roller coaster of a weekend that was, i was exhausted from the adrenaline. An huge congratulations to the blue squad on a well deserved win! You boys did me proud and ended your season on a high. I have no doubt as you head into season 2016/17 you will prove yourselves more and more as a team to beat. Congratulations to (CPT) Josh, Finley, Dylan, Kieren, Rio, Daniel and Jackson on the fantastic 6-3 result. You had Duckinfield on the hop from the first whistle and displayed some awesome football. I've never seen such smiley faces back in the showers after it. Beaming with joy and its such a great moral boost as we head into summer training. The skill is there you just need to believe in yourselves more, like i do! Amazing bunch of lads its been a pleasure working with you all.
The red squad also made me proud, coming up through the ranks to the final is an achievement in itself its unfortunate that the were dowsed in hail stone 10 min after the whistle blew and we just couldn't follow their pace. An early goal from Nyle cheered them up and a cracker of a goal from Kian sent the crowds cheering but it wasn't to be. Well done to you all, Keeper Ethan, (CPT) Nyle, Kian, Caleb, Louis, Harry, George "The Wall" and Kobe. What made me laugh in the showers at the end was all the other teams were more interested in who was in your match attacks than listening to their managers about the win. Thats great sportsmanship and a credit to the grass roots sport.

Training this week is Thursday on pitch 1 6-7pm. Im not entirely sure if training will stay on this day but the AGM is coming up so i can ask questions then.

Thank you all for a wonderful season, this year has been brilliant. Each year it gets better and better and the new lads that joined this season and the old lads who have been there since last year and the year before, Thank you for being such great sports. Roll on next season!

Summer training, tournaments and friendlies to be advised in due course.

Thank you
Hayley :)

Match Review - 16/04/16

Signol Blues Vs Haughton Green Greens

Today was perfect football weather, quite mild with the sun on the horizon. The boys seemed in really good spirits and warmed up well prior to the game.
I pre warned the boys during my team talk that I was going to try a different formation if needed to protect the keeper more and be a little more defensive with two in defence, one in the middle and one upfront.
The boys had clear instruction what I wanted them to do from the start, we had Tom at the back, Dylan and Josh on the wings and Rio up top.
Boy did they start in style, from the minute the whistle was blown they were chasing down the ball and within the first few kicks Josh pounced on a mistake and ran through player after player straight for his first goal of the game, the boys had their tails up and fought for every ball soon it was 2 with brilliant play between Dylan, Josh and Rio leading to Dylan's goal!
Centre kick came again and they pulled one back but I knew this game was ours for the taking, I was right and within minutes it was 3 this time from Rio with an absolutely amazing goal from just near the half way line, Rio caught the ball perfectly and it went straight into the bottom corner with a Cantona-esque celebration the boys were elated (as was I) but concentration was needed.
Before we knew it another goal flew in from Josh who was absolutely everywhere, he wanted every ball and battled for it while making sure he was always available to run off Rio if he needed assistance.
Tom broke down attack time after time sending the ball up the flanks with ease and never over committing, he's so strong in defence and the perfect person to protect Kieran in net, this leads me to Kieran who made some great saves with all his body and released the ball well to his team mates.
The game was Signols and we swarmed the opposition with attach after attack, soon enough it was time for another and Josh got his third which meant his hat-trick there were only a few minutes left of the half but it was far from over, another great exchange between all of the boys starting with Tom at the back to Dylan, Josh and Rio to slot home.
Now it was time for a breather as the second half came, the boys needed a breather as did I! The second half started and we had had a little change around, we started with Dylan at the back who can play anywhere, Jackson and Daniel on the flanks and Josh up top. I'd asked Jackson and Daniel to sit deep whenever they could thus to protect our lead. Which they both did really well, Daniel always has lots of energy and controlled the ball well, he helped stretch the play and used the wings to pass up to Rio, Jackson got rid of the danger time after time, putting his foot through the ball and sending it up the pitch.
The opposition made considerable changes and pushed to attack whenever they could, with a new line up we needed time to adjust and didn't get it as they started quickly, within minutes it was 6-3 and the boys were being pulled in all directions. The game reached 6-4 and on came Rio in place of Jackson and Fin for Daniel the opposition had a chance to make it 6-5 but a great save from Kieran using his feet and belting it up the pitch took the pressure off. Finn made some fantastic challenges and was strong and kept to his man pushing them down the line instead of them being able to come in field, unfortunately they got another and it was 6-5 with 4 minutes to go.
With the game coming to an end we needed to see it out or get another goal and we did the latter, another brace from the team saw Rio latch on to the ball and also score his hattrick! With that came the end of the game and a win for signol!
For me today all of the boys were man of the match, they played for each other and out of their skins! I imagine some tired legs tonight.
I'm looking forward to the new seven a side format come the summer :) well done boys, couldn't have started my Saturday better!

Match Review - 16/04/16

Signol Reds Vs Reddish Villa Reds

Weather watching all morning, the rain was set to pound us at 1pm, not good! All arrived and looking dapper in their new tracksuits! Spirit was high and all ready to play the final game of the league! Warming up on pitch was much better than previous weeks, we were tight and sharp, just how i expect them to be. Going up against Villa knowing last time they broke our winger brought the dark cloud from the heavens even closer but they knew they have grown since last November and become the team to beat. Started out, Ethan in net, The Wall in defence, Nyle trying left mid, Kobe right mid and Kian on the front. In true signol style we were all half asleep and slow to start. They took kick off and immediately hammered into the boys. Villa are a strong team and it showed. Their passing was spot on and they could volley over our heads with precision. It wasn't long before we conceded a goal, it just sailed in over Ethan's head, our defending just wasn't a match for them. Slowly but surely the cogs began to pick up speed and the attack was on. We started moving the ball quicker, getting it up the pitch. From Kian to Nyle and an attempt on goal, great shot from Nyle but their rather tall keeper caught it. Reddish returned the favor and ploughed it into out net! 2 nil down but warmed up. Kobe came off for Caleb who immediately put in the pace, We had them on their toes. We then had a corner, Nyle took to it with a brilliant shot, their player headed it to the boot of Kian who of course delivered our first goal with finesse. Back to the top and off we go, George fighting strong in defence, brilliant throw ins and fighting hard to keep them away from Ethan. Back into their half saw Caleb deliver a goal and the whistle blew for half time. Second half saw Louis in defence and the rest still on. Our start from Kian to Nyle then immediately wide to Caleb was brilliant, while Villa charge to our kick off we went wide, Louis holding position perfectly and clearing the ball with a solid boot. A change of Kian for Josh (Blue team) and he quickly set into action covering centre mid. Villa then stole another goal and then another! 4-2 down and passion to win was at an all time high. We were fighting to get the ball in their net. A super save from Ethan kept Villa at bay. They were keen to score a fifth but Ethan refused that and covered his are perfectly and was on the ball quick and passed back out quick. His confidence is coming on as he bossed about his defender! Caleb off an Kobe on. George on for Louis, Nyle off for Louis. We were adamant we were looking for that net, then Kobe took a foul and went down in their half. George was instructed to take it and boom the back of the net was done. There was a matter of minutes to go and we needed that last goal, great team work as Louis crossed to Josh, Josh to Kobe and a blast from Kobe but he hit the cross bar, a cry of annoyance came from Kobe but then he realized the ball was still in play and he swiped it into the net! Whistle blown and the boys were happy with a 4-4 draw! And so was i! Their manager came to us and asked us to pick man of the match for them and they would do it for us, we voted and chose their number 9 and they chose our number 10! George the wall hall. I couldn't agree more, George never fails to deliver, once hes woken up, and hes a magnificent player with a superb attitude.

That was the last league game and well done to you all for a brilliant exciting season. I look forward to the cup match and a summer of tournaments and building the team up to 7 aside.

Well done.
Hayley
