It was cold, it was sunny, it was perfect footballing weather! The team was lead by Harry this week and what a performance he put in. Fast as lightning down the wing! We started off pretty slow and conceded two goals in minuets we looked a little out of position and not a lot of effort was being put in. We made mistakes and lost the ball, passing across the net and not passing the ball out quick enough and away from our net! A goal from George, who nobody knew went in at first was the lift they needed. The second half was incredible. We swapped ends, the sun wasn't in Ethan's eyes any more and he didn't let another one in! The boys took on board everything i said at half time and i was really really pleased with them. We started this half at such a pace the other team didn't know what hit them. Goal after goal was going in. Positioning was spot on, every lad worked his position perfectly. It was good to see the lads taking advantage of their mistakes as its usually the other way round! Nyle positioned himself in the perfect shot, Kobe shot into the net, its bounced off the keeper and because Nyle stood where he was he tapped it back in! The lads didn't let them out of their half for 10 min of the game! Harry like lightning on the wing, cross country comes in handy! At one point he had a Waterloo player hot on his heels so he stopped the ball, turned and ran the other way. The crowd actually gasped and cheered it was that skillful! George hard and strong in defence. He sits this position extremely well, taking no prisoners he fights for the ball and clears it out instantly. Kobe on the wing and center, he had them on their toes! Keeping it nice and wide with a continuous battle to keep the ball at his feet, he never stops and usually wins! Louis in Center mid and defence this week, cracking game for Louis, his volley was impeccable, straight over the keepers head! Brilliant football that! Nyle in center mid, again another fantastic game for this one too. Persistent with a hunger for the ball. Always battling away and taking the ball from their feet, confidence has improved and so has strength. A tough tackle had him wincing but he wanted to carry on! We started getting comfortable and cracks were beginning to show, Ethan had his work cut out for him, he saved every attempt on goal though, played great today! The 3 goals from Nyle, 2 from Harry, 2 from George, 1 from Louis and 1 from Kobe meant the Reds had secured themselves quite the victory and they were extremely pleased with themselves and i was almost doing cartwheels on the touch line! Its was great to see all the hard work is paying off.
Man of the match and captain for next week could only be Louis! His powerful boot and his precision on goal scored him an amazing goal. Well done Louis you did brilliant!
Signol Blues Vs Heyside
A great effort from the boys today. We faced a well
organised team who found the gaps we left. It took us time to get involved with
the game and the first half was not our best. We came out second half and got
more involved and seemed more settled as a team. Great effort from all the boys
Dan had a great solid second half in defence. Tom as always solid at the back
for both half’s. Jackson showing his tricky feet up front and almost carving
out several chances. Josh as always driving
the midfield and pushing the team forward with every opportunity. Finn out on
the wing pushing forward at every opportunity. Rio played his part in goal
throwing himself about and doing his best against some cracking shots. Not to
forget Kieran who did his best work in the center also with
a tempting corner .Well done blues we have good positives to take into
training. Captain for next game will be Thomas who leads from the back.
Jason
