Match Review - 24/10/15

Signol Athletic Reds Vs Curzon Ashton Reds

Probably one of the worst weeks to have a match against the home team! Everyone was on holiday, i had four boys, Nyle, Kian, Kobe and Ethan! So i took the decision to play Thomas up from the blues!
Captained by Thomas the game started out great, switched on, passing the ball beautifully but a few mistakes were made and we conceded a lot of goals! It was difficult for the boys, Thomas wasn't used to playing in this team so his confidence wasn't quite there but he tried his absolute best and after a quick chat at half time he really came into himself, his tackling was brilliant and he was defending fantastic! Kian out on left mid field, some great touches and a lot of shots on target. This seems a perfect position for Kian as it give him more range and hes very quick. A lovely goal made everyone start to smile and they were back in the game. Kobe in center mid worked it perfectly. Falling back to help Thomas then pushing the ball forward, driving it through the opposition with determination. Brilliant game for Kobe. Nyle in right Mid. Today he showed no sign of giving up, going down and jumping back up! He was marked up by a "Giant" 7 year old but he didn't let that phase him, going in for the ball and on occasion winning it! Constantly driving the ball at the net he bagged himself a goal! Ethan was amazing in net today, the progress is great to see! Some brilliant saves, the one with his face didn't let it stop him, few tears but he wasn't about to let the team down.
Second half was tough, the lads realized why we actually need subs! heads were hanging low and they looked exhausted but not one of them gave up!

The treats from Kians mum was gratefully received!

Man of the match and captain in the next game is Ethan. He may be small but he has a giant personality and he doesn't let that stop him being a fantastic keeper! Reading the game well and covering the ball more and more each week!Fantastic!


Signol Athletic Blues Vs Denton Youths Fc

Had a few poorly and some on holiday so again another tough set up for the lads.
Harvey in center mid was amazing. Hes never played this position, i gave him a quick brief and watching him you would never have guessed! Falling back to Thomas when it was in our half and again always there to drive it up the pitch! Hes come a long way since his first training session, really really pleased for him! Thomas really came into his own in this game. Confidence was beaming, running with the ball, defending as hard as he could and doing his absolute best to keep it out wide! Fin was on the right Mid for us, tackles from this lad are so good, ok he doesn't always win the ball but hes showing a huge amount of confidence. last season he would of been more cautious but this season hes going in for it. Picking up some awesome speed too hes a really good little player and always does it with a smile! Daniel on left mid. Covers the position fantastic. he always holds position and knows just where to be to receive the ball. Confidence will come in time but for his first season hes doing brilliantly, another one who has come on rapid from summer training!


Man of the mach and captain next game is Harvey! What a brilliant match for him. Positioning, speed, awareness and quick thinking was spot on for him today!
