Match Review - 17/10/15

Signol Athletic Reds Vs Reddish Villa Reds

Its a difficult one to review this match, although the end result was a 4-4 draw and the boys were on top of the world, there were many points in this game that they wasn't at their best. having spoken and listened to the feedback from some parents i think you know what i mean. Possession was good and at time positioning was good but the lack of passing really let them down! The one thing i know the reds can do is pass the ball, they can move it up the pitch with precise passing and receiving! Positioning a little off as when a mid fielder had the ball there was no one in front of him for a pass! That's something again i know these boys can do! But a lot of positives from the game, Harry scoring his first goal of the season really lifted him up! Kians cracking goal kept momentum going and George as always never failing to deliver! A lovely goal from him! Caleb also scored but it was very unfortunate that he fell and broke his elbow as he did so! Louis, Kobe and Nyle worked hard on the wings and defence and a few little mistakes from them all  allowed Villa 4 goals but Ethan, what a cracking match it was for you! Some fantastic movement in net and some quality saves!
I think the change in formation and positions was tough this week but im really starting to see where each lad performs best so it will all fall into place! They are a strong team and ive heard many compliments from outside the club regarding them so keep up the good work lads, as always loads to work on but that's a good thing, progression is what we want and it feels good to watch them deliver!

Thoughts are with Caleb from the boys, his broken elbow has taken this magic midfielder out of the matches for 6 weeks! Get well soon Caleb from me, the boys and the parents, you are missed! Speedy recovery!

Man of the match and captain for the next game (when hes back off holiday) went to Harry! His persistence paid off and grabbed him his goal. Always works hard on the pitch and tries his very best in any position! Well done Harry!

Signol Athletic Blues Vs Reddish Villa Jets

Im not sure where to start with this game, if i could use those emoji pictures id put a loads of clapping hands on! What a game! Wow! This by far was the best ive ever seen this team play and the result really reflected it! Every lad on this team performed the best they could! Starting with Kieren in net, OK there were a few slip ups but he put in a lot of effort and saved some difficult shots! Moving for the ball even if it was wide, sign of someone watching the game! Thomas has a certain flare about him, hes technically brilliant, fast moving up the pitch and a great goal! Confidence is coming! Josh as always never stops, hes like a whirl wind on the pitch! Up in mid he scored a fantastic hat-trick and a wonderful celebration had the parents cheering! Rio never fails to deliver! Its great when you think hes playing up a year, fast solid and hungry to win, 2 goals were delivered with precision! Daniel out on the wing, moving the ball up the pitch and keeping Reddish guessing! Great tackles too Dan! Always wanting the ball! Fin had a great game, started off a little wary but once he settled in he was going right in for the ball, confidence in himself is showing, he knows he can so he does! Harvey up in defence working the boss man role, pushing hard and going in for the ball. Settling in well to the team!
This was such an enjoyable game to watch, i think i was leaping in the air and covering my eyes more than anyone! Beaming with pride from these lot! Its unfortunate we were pipped at the post with a late goal but that didn't matter atal, fantastic result 7-6, fantastic team work and a fantastic match! I know the parents agree we couldn't stop smiling!

Its amazing to see how far these lads have come since the start of the season! Work rate, passing, confidence, its all on the way up!

Man of the match was a tough one, i had two lads in mind that delivered perfectly today and the best ive seen from them, but it worked out OK as one is away next match so both got it, Kieren for his keeping and Thomas for his game! Both deserved that without any doubt! Thomas to captain next game and Kieren the one after!

Thanks for a great set of matches, please try to arrive on time i know the traffic can be shocking but please look ahead before the match just in case!

Thanks
Hayley
